Recycling at The Home Depot

Did you know?

eco_image

Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.

eco_image

This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used for composite decking materials, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.

eco_image

We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.

The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our eco actions.

Tawheed is so rude
I had an interaction with Tawheed at the returns counter Jan26, 2024 6:20pm. He has a big attitude. He’s very rude, didn’t say “hello, goodbye, thank you” or any common courtesy words. Just scanned and handed me the receipt after asking “what’s wrong with it?” with an annoyed tone like a robot. The robots that I see at some hotels and restaurants did a better job. The other female at the returns counter seems unpleasant too. Are the employees not getting paid enough lol? The Home Depot customer has gone downhill a lot.

        Like Shopping at Fort Knox
Not only is everything locked up behind a cage, but individual items are locked up behind the first cage. There is constant beeping letting you know you are being recorded. Items have to be brought to the cashier for you, and then held onto until the receipt is printed, even though they see you paying. Basically, it feels as if you are a criminal rather than a valued customer. The lack of staffing, or lack of attentive staff at least, makes this entire ordeal even more time consuming and inconvenient. You never know how long it will take. We once had to wait an hour for a lawn mower. It is as if they want their in-store shopping to fail and go online only. No problem, easier for me I guess.

The self check clerk is useless
She will tell you to go to target before trying to help you, she rude and disrespectful but if you want free stuff and your check stand has problems she will tell you to leave with the items before helping you, so it’s not stealing if a employee approved it
